Virginia  M.  Black  ~  Fine Art
Canadian Landscapes & Still Life

BC Artist

"My Brushwork is the color of my soul"

Born into a very creative family in Victoria BC, Virginia's mother enjoyed doing pastel portraits and landscapes in oils and her dad enjoyed photography and silk screening and gave Virginia her first camera at the young age of 6. Feeling a pull towards the Arts Virginia drew often as a child and excelled in Art class throughout her school years. She sketched often and dabbled in acrylic paints when her two sons were young and took her natural talent more seriously after meeting her second husband Ken in 2007. With his encouragement she got involved with the local Art Community and started painting often. This experience made her realize she had found what made her heart and soul sing.

Commission Work: "Through my art I help people celebrate a memory by creating a commission of their favorite landscape, bringing joy and tranquility into their home or office".

Virginia finds inspiration from any landscape, from westcoast to prairies and is also interested in still life subjects. Lately she has been exploring with watercolors.

~ Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) since 2014.

Virginia & her husband feel so blessed to live in the Comox Valley on beautiful Vancouver Island B.C. Canada Her other interests are gardening, swimming, nature photography, fishing and flying with her husband. She also finds joy in sharing by teaching drawing and painting in acrylics to adult beginners in her home near Seal Bay in Courtenay BC and she too feels she is always learning.
